Kite Runner

There is a chance to be good again.
An epic tale of fathers and sons, of friendship and betrayal, that takes us from the final days of Afghanistan’s monarchy to the atrocities of the Taliban reign. This unforgettable story of redemption is based on the best-selling phenomenon “THE KITE RUNNER”. The authoer, Khaled Hosseini said that the idea of the book stemmed from hearing that the Taliban had banned kite fighting in Kabul. He remembered fondly how the sport was a welcome respite from winter boredom growing up in the city in the '70s. He wrote a short story about two friends with an uneven relationship who loved kites. From the themes found in the short story, the novel was developed.
